Sr Azure DevOps Engineer (Terraform and Security Integration) – Contract – Remote – $50.00 - $55.00/hr.

Our client is seeking a Sr Azure DevOps Engineer (Terraform and Security Integration) in Remote opportunity.
Role Description
• Pipeline Development & Management:
o Design, develop, and manage Azure DevOps pipelines (build and release) to support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
o Implement and manage Terraform-based infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources in Azure.
o Utilize knowledge of Azure data solutions (such as Data Lake storage, ADF, App Services, Azure SQL database, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Functions, Fabric controller) proficient in using Azure Fabric to package, deploy, manage scalable and reliable microservices and containers
o Integrate Terraform scripts into Azure DevOps pipelines for seamless infrastructure deployment and updates.
o Experience in Deploying Infrastructure as code (IaC) using terraform and Git Version Control.
• Infrastructure Automation:
o Develop and maintain Terraform modules and scripts for provisioning and managing Azure resources.
o Collaborate with engineering teams to define and implement best practices for infrastructure automation and deployment.
o Managing version control systems like Git, including branching, merging, and tagging strategies to support different environments.
o Working with QA teams to set up automated testing frameworks as part of the release pipeline to ensure code quality.
o Implement and secure Azure Test Plans to support automated and manual testing, ensuring comprehensive security testing coverage.
• Security Integration & Management:
o Implement and manage security measures within Azure DevOps, including Boards, Repositories, Pipelines, Artifacts, and Test Plans.
o Develop and enforce security policies for managing sensitive information and code within Azure DevOps components.
o Integrate security tools and practices into the DevOps lifecycle, including automated security scanning, vulnerability assessment, and compliance checks.
o Provide guidance on best practices for structuring DevOps components to enhance security, scalability, and efficiency.
• Configuration Management:
o Implement and manage configuration management tools and practices to ensure consistency and reliability of deployments.
o Support the integration of Terraform with other configuration management tools and services as needed.
• Monitoring & Optimization:
o Monitor and optimize the performance and reliability of Azure DevOps pipelines and Terraform deployments.
o Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to pipeline failures, infrastructure provisioning, and deployment errors.
• Collaboration & Documentation:
o Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to gather requirements and ensure successful deployment of applications and infrastructure changes.
o Document pipeline configurations, terraform modules, and deployment processes to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability.
Skills & Requirements
• Education & Experience:
o Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
o 6+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on Azure DevOps and Terraform.
o Proven experience in developing and managing CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
• Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in Azure DevOps services including Pipelines, Repositories, Artifacts, and Boards.
o Strong experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) in Azure environments.
o Knowledge of cloud services and architecture, particularly in Microsoft Azure.
o Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools.
• Soft Skills:
o Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
o Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
• Certifications:
o Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
o HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate.
• Additional Skills:
o Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
o Familiarity with other IaC tools and practices (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
o Understanding of Agile methodologies and practices.
