We are currently seeking a General Manager with strong leadership and business acumen skills to lead our McAllen, TX facility in achieving the established business goals and objectives.
The General Manager (GM) will oversee all operations at REVEAM, INC.’s McAllen Electronic Cold Pasteurization (ECP) Facility, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The GM will ensure efficient day-to-day operations, compliance with safety and food safety standards, and drive the profitability of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all facility operations, including scheduling, receiving, processing, treating, storing, and shipping of fresh produce.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, good manufacturing practices (GMP), and quality control measures.
- Manage relationships with the 3PL partner and outsourced service providers, ensuring service level agreements and key performance indicators are met.
- Drive operational efficiency, monitoring costs, and implementing process improvements.
- Develop and manage the annual facility budget, aligning with company profitability goals.
- Recruit, train, and manage facility personnel, fostering a strong team environment.
- Oversee capital improvements and facility maintenance, ensuring all systems function optimally.
- Act as the primary liaison with local and state officials, promoting REVEAM, INC.’s brand and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Quality Assurance to introduce new service offerings.
Safety and Compliance:
- Oversee compliance with PRIMUSGFS Food Safety Management System, HACCP programs, and OSHA, USDA, APHIS, FDA, and State of Texas regulations.
- Ensure implementation and adherence to safety, health, and environmental (SHE) programs, and drive a culture of proactive safety reporting.
- Manage the proper use and handling of cleaning and sanitation chemicals, ensuring all personnel are trained in their safe application.
- Ensure accurate documentation related to food safety, chemical use, and facility licenses, conducting regular audits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field.
- 10+ years of leadership experience in food manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, expense management, and financial practices.
- Proficiency in continuous improvement methods such as Six Sigma, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Expertise in safety systems and food safety standards.
- Familiarity with the fresh produce supply chain from grower/shippers to retail outlets.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and team-building skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
This position involves both office and facility work, including exposure to refrigerated areas and moving mechanical parts. Ability to lift up to 15 lbs and occasionally bend, squat, or climb is required. The noise level in the facility can be high.
