Job Title: Field Technician
Location: Dallas, TX
Duration: 12 months to start,
Pay Range: $25-$35/hr, OT after 40
Target start date / availability: ASAP.
Work Schedule: 40-50 hours per week
Job Summary:
Join our team to support the inspection, operation, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure. This role involves overseeing and conducting inspections of high voltage (HV) substations, transmission lines, and distribution networks. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preparing operational instructions, coordinating with contractors, and managing communication with stakeholders regarding planned and unplanned outages.
- Key Responsibilities: Conduct routine and specialized inspections of HV substations, transmission lines, and medium voltage (MV) distribution systems.
- Carry out regular maintenance tasks and coordinate with external service providers for additional maintenance needs.
- Draft and execute operational instructions for HV and MV systems.
- Respond to emergencies, perform troubleshooting, and manage service restoration efforts.
- Communicate outage notifications and updates to stakeholders via phone, text, and email promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of outages, including timings, causes, durations, and response actions.
- Foster a safety-oriented work environment by adhering to and promoting safety protocols and best practices.
- Required Skills & Qualifications: Ability to work on-site in environments with high, medium, and low voltage electrical systems.
- Willingness to travel as needed for inspections and projects.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on professional and courteous client interactions.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with innovative and creative thinking.
- Experience in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Capability to collaborate effectively with external contractors.
- Proficiency in interacting with utility dispatch personnel.
- Adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
- Competence in using testing equipment and tools for inspection and maintenance tasks.
- Demonstrated work ethic and eagerness to learn in a dynamic team setting.
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a technical institution, or at least one year of relevant electrical experience.
