Job Description and Position Overview:
The Senior Scrum Master / Agile Coach works autonomously and demonstrates key leadership competencies. This role is responsible for leading cross-functional teams to achieve common outcomes and ensure successful execution. The individual will demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyze and solve complex issues, taking the initiative to plan and execute tasks as assigned. This position is also responsible for tracking and reporting daily activities while meeting project budget, schedule, scope, and risk targets.
The Senior Scrum Master / Agile Coach must understand the impact of the business model and project sprints on the overall business strategy. They possess excellent communication, both written and verbal, along with effective facilitation skills. The individual will also be responsible for communicating the future state vision of the project sprint and its impact on business strategy.
In addition to leadership responsibilities, the role involves assessing and coaching team members on their strengths and areas of development. They foster an environment of open and honest feedback, using lessons learned from setbacks to drive personal and team improvement. They are responsible for identifying and assessing risks and issues, performing impact analysis, and prioritizing resolutions. By removing impediments that prevent the team from completing work within the sprint, the Senior Scrum Master ensures effective reporting on the project's status and impact.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of Scrum Master delivery experience, along with an additional 2+ years of Agile project experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) preferred, or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) with 3+ years of experience.
Responsibilities:
- Support squad engineering practices and ensure the long-term integrity and viability of the codebase.
- Promote a "shift-left" development approach and facilitate pair- and mob-programming, as well as automated testing.
- Foster a self-organized and collaborative Agile/Scrum team.
- Support the Product/Experience Owner by maintaining focus on agreed sprint goals and prioritizing outcomes over outputs in the product and sprint backlog.
- Continuously monitor, improve, and innovate within the Scrum process to solve impediments, while removing external distractions.
- Drive the adoption and implementation of Agile practices across the enterprise, leading and coaching employees to create new processes, coordinate work across divisions, and collaborate as one team.
- Actively participate in the Continuous Delivery Community of Practice to help drive the continuous improvement of Agile discipline at Key.
- Lead and coach the Scrum team by applying Agile/Scrum principles to enhance the timely delivery of valuable products.
- Work with the Product/Experience Owner to evaluate team cohesion and effectiveness, recommending changes as needed.
