Senior Controls Engineer (12-Month Contract)

Location: Leominster, MA

Overview:

The Senior Controls Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the client's manufacturing operations by designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical controls engineering, with a focus on Rockwell/Allen Bradley hardware and Wonderware platforms. This position requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and implement control systems for manufacturing processes, including PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA integration.
Provide technical support for existing control systems, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades.
Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve control system issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure control systems meet production requirements and safety standards.
Lead the process of controls engineering, including planning, execution, and documentation.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and technologies to ensure the use of best practices in control system design and implementation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial control systems engineering.
Strong proficiency in Rockwell/Allen Bradley hardware and software (PLC, HMI, SCADA).
In-depth knowledge of Wonderware platforms.
Experience with control system design and implementation for manufacturing processes (e.g., blending, extrusion).
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
