Role Description
This is a full-time Senior IT Systems Engineer for one of our esteemed clients based in San Diego. The Senior IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining all of the hardware, software, networks, facilities etc. that are required to deliver, monitor, control and support all of the enterprise applications and/or hardware platforms/appliances utilized to provide Information Technology (IT) services for the company.
***This role is for a 6 month contract with the potential to extend***
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of IT Systems Management experience
- Proficient oral and written communication tools and techniques
- Excellent customer support and personal service
- Prior experience supporting complex IT systems, Systems operations and maintenance across multiple Technology Domains
- Well versed in technical writing and documentation practices, procedures and applicable laws
- Understanding of mathematic principles relative to assigned area in IT and/or telecommunications
- Capabilities and applications of network equipment including routers, switches, servers, and related hardware
- Knowledge of IT principles, methods and practices in assigned specialty areas
- Experience in software distribution and configuration management tools and mechanisms
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, information technology management or a closely related field

- Network Infrastructure and Datacenter Management (ie. Networking (Switching, Routing and Wireless), Storage Management (i.e. SAN Administration), Server Provisioning and Administration (Physical and Virtualized Servers), Redundant / Uninterruptable Power Systems (UPS), Environmental Control & Monitoring)
- Cloud Computing Support and Administration (i.e. AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform)
- Systems Security Systems Support: DMZ, IDS / IPS, Encryption, and Web Content Filtering Concepts
- Telecommunications Connectivity and Administration (i.e. Traditional Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS, CAT3), Inside and Outside Plant Ethernet Cabling, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Video Conferencing)
- Mission Critical Line of Business Systems Support, Connectivity and Administration (i.e. Remote Access Systems, Public Safety Radio Systems, Law Enforcement Systems, Physical Access Control, IP Cameras / Video Surveillance Systems, ERP Systems, Document Management Systems, Geographical Information System)
