Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist

Job Summary: Support the culture change by analyzing risks and defining actions to manage these risks. Establish and implement organization policies and procedures regarding local and federal health and safety regulations. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in the EHS area.
Experience:
- 2 + years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong safety background.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant OSHA Health and Safety regulations at the state and federal levels. Communicate updates and requirements to the leadership team.
- Lead and manage incident investigations, perform root cause analyses, and ensure the closure of corrective actions. Analyze safety data trends and recommend continuous improvements.
- Develop, implement, and sustain an effective EHS management system aligned with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits, providing actionable plans to address identified issues.
- Deliver safety training for new hires and ongoing education for all employees on EHS policies, procedures, and best practices.
Required Qualities/Attributes:
- Proficient in problem-solving using standard quality tools.
- Motivated to drive cultural improvements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly focused and meticulous in work.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards is advantageous.
