Our client is seeking a Full-Time Plant Systems Application Engineer to support US based LNG export facility and service the global demand for North American natural gas. This Arlington, VA or Houston, TX-based position will support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies.
Responsibilities:
- Manage application administration, including User Role provisioning, while adhering to security guidelines and organizational best practices.
- Collaborate with business teams to identify process gaps, gather requirements for enhancements or new developments, and translate them into detailed functional and technical specifications.
- Support and document results for unit testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Take ownership of effective communication and collaboration between business teams and vendors, providing comprehensive application support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach by exceeding assigned responsibilities and continuously innovating to ensure best-in-class processes across applications, particularly in areas like control of work, electronic rounds, and safety/environmental applications.
- Participate in master data governance, ensuring consistency and alignment across related applications.
- Monitor and manage integrations across assigned applications, overseeing the integration of systems and data from plant control systems, plant IT systems, and corporate IT systems.
- Show a willingness to take on responsibilities beyond core competencies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues as they arise, and support business operations to ensure system availability.
- Liaise with vendors on application updates, patches, and enhancements, ensuring compliance with Venture Global patching policies.
- Develop and maintain application-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Lead or contribute to the design and development of complex software applications, offering technical insights to ensure scalability, maintainability, and alignment with long-term organizational goals.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues and system outages.

- Exhibit exceptional time management, prioritization skills, and resilience under pressure, meeting deadlines in a constantly changing environment.
- Maintain strong security and confidentiality practices for systems handling sensitive data.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of application architectures, configurations, and processes.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2-5 years of IT application experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry, with strong technical knowledge of tools and technologies used in the Plant Maintenance space.
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience supporting SaaS applications and cloud environments (Azure or AWS).
- Experience with or exposure to plant maintenance processes in SAP S/4 HANA.
- Strong organizational and collaboration skills, with experience supporting multiple applications.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Solid understanding of various operating systems and databases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across functions.
- Proven experience in engineering and software architecture design, with hands-on experience managing simultaneous projects.
