The Axel Group is seeking a Director of Asset Management to join our client's team in Monmouth County, NJ! Our client is one of NJ's leading general contractors!
The Director of Asset Management will be responsible for ensuring that our fleet of vehicles and equipment is well-maintained, compliant with regulations, and deployed effectively to support our operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to optimize fleet performance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive fleet management strategies to optimize the utilization, maintenance, and efficiency of company vehicles and equipment.
- Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and disposal of fleet assets, including vehicles, machinery, and specialized equipment.
- Establish and maintain preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the safety, reliability, and longevity of fleet assets.
- Monitor fleet operations to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and technological advancements.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements governing fleet operations, including licensing, registration, emissions standards, and safety regulations.
- Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to negotiate favorable terms and ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance and repairs.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to fleet operations, including driver safety, vehicle usage, fuel management, and accident reporting.
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of fleet technicians, drivers, and administrative staff to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Prepare and present regular reports on fleet performance, including key metrics such as utilization rates, maintenance costs, fuel consumption, and compliance status.
- Collaborate with other departments, including operations, finance, and safety, to support overall business objectives and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in fleet management, preferably in the utility or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of fleet operations, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, analyze data, and implement effective solutions.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
