Conducts user experience research, analysis, and makes recommendations based on research findings. This senior-level position is able to work independently on significant research projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Utilize organizational and interpersonal skills to recruit participants for research projects and usability studies
- Work closely with the UI Designers, Product, Sales and Marketing to identify research tests and questions
- Provides advisement to internal teams on the appropriate research strategy to answer critical questions
- Plan, lead, and conduct a wide variety of research (e.g. in-person and remote usability tests, interviews, focus groups, surveys, prototype tests, A/B tests, card sorting, etc.)
- Perform validation usability testing to determine whether new features and enhancements have met business and usability objectives as well as participant needs
- Participate in site visits and phone interviews, using listening, evaluating and note taking skills to collect user input
- Translate research findings into actionable, prioritized recommendations and communicate insights to team members
- Helps mentor other UX Researchers on the team answering questions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 7-10 years' user experience research or related
- Healthcare domain experience is preferred
- Experience with Agile development is preferred
Skills/Knowledge
- A good listener and skilled note taker
- Ability to quickly understand and be empathetic of the participant’s needs and goals
- Knows how to ask open-ended questions that encourage unbiased feedback
- Familiar with usability tools such as Qualtrics, Walk Me, remote usability testing tools, card sorting, subjective ratings scales, and timed tests, as well as prototyping tools, such as Visio and Axure
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management, and personal organization skills
