Lab Advanced Solutions (“LAS”) is a lab equipment, product and services business headquartered in Bellport, New York. LAS is comprised of Block Scientific (“Block”), Myco Instruments (“MYCO”) and Peripheral Visions, LLC (“PVI”). Block, established over 20 years ago, is a refurbisher of lab equipment, distributor of new and used equipment, seller of consumables and reagents, and a repair and maintenance service provider to the medical lab industry.
At this time, we are interviewing Field Service Engineers with at least 3 years of current responsibility to install, service, and repair Beckman Coulter, Siemens or Sysmex brand analyzers. For immediate consideration, your resume should include all brands and models of analyzers that you install, service, and repair. Candidate is not required to reside in Jacksonville, FL; however, must be available for travel to support our Great Lakes region. Candidates from IL, MI, OH, & IN will be given immediate consideration.
As a Field Service Engineer (FSE) Level II, you will play a crucial role in installing, maintaining, and servicing clinical laboratory analyzers and other products sold by LAS. Your expertise and dedication to quality work ensures that our diagnostic instruments operate efficiently, contributing to accurate test results and patient well-being. - Perform installation, preventive maintenance, and repairs on clinical laboratory instruments from manufacturers such as Abbott, Beckman Coulter, Hitachi, IL, Olympus, Ortho, Roche, Siemens, Sysmex, and Thermo Scientific.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to analyzers, centrifuges, spectrophotometers, and automated systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and optimize instrument performance.
- Experience with Beckman Coulter analyzers.
- Customer Support - resolve technical issues efficiently and educate users on instrument operation, maintenance, and best practices.
- Quality Assurance - ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP, FDA) during service activities. Participate in proficiency testing and quality control procedures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Candidates must be able to lift, lower, carry, push, pull 1-50 lbs. frequently and 50-100 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, turn, crouch, crawl, push, pull, sit, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Candidates must also be able to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex and extend neck, have good hand and finger dexterity.
- Ability to work in tight spaces.
WHAT YOU OFFER
- Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, electronics, or related field
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience servicing clinical laboratory analyzers
- Proficiency with instrument models from specified manufacturers such as Abbott, Beckman Coulter, Hitachi, IL, Olympus, Ortho, Roche, Siemens, Sysmex, Thermo Scientific
- Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Instrument Technician (CLIT) preferred
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office
- Road Warrior - up to 75% travel through designated area with periodic overnights
- Valid driver's license, automobile insurance, clean driving record
- Reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement at current IRS rate)
