EDM Operator
Responsibilities
1. Reads and Interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, set-up procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.
2. Designs production tools and dies.
3. Verifies fixture set-up meets acceptable quality standards.
4. Installs, aligns, and secures tooling attachments and parts on machine.
5. Enters commands or manually adjusts machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
6. Puts layout of tool parts in computer program.
7. Performs mathematical functions to ensure tool part configuration.
8. Maintains and operates the EDM Machine.
9. Forms various components of tool using EDM.
10. Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned.
