Director of Operations

We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to plan, direct, and execute all plant operations in order to achieve safety, quality, scheduling, and cost objectives, as well as help expand our global manufacturing company. This role also includes presenting a professional appearance and attitude in line with the following job responsibilities:
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Director of Operations position will be to plan, organize, control, and direct the day to day manufacturing operations of the plant including stamping, production, and assembly. The position will report directly to the company Vice President of Operations.
You will work with the Tool Room for repairs, Engineering Department for problem solving and continuous improvement, the Shipping Department to meet necessary customer objectives, the Quality Department to ensure specifications are met, as well as working with management to meet company objectives.
This position will be responsible for ensuring manufacturing capabilities will meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements for cost, quality, and responsiveness. This will require the ability to communicate effectively with other managers, employees, and outside suppliers.
The Director of Operations will assist in developing short and long-term strategies to reduce cost, improve supply chains and enhance safety and efficiencies. In doing so, you will be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time delivery.
The ideal candidate will implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus on operations and trigger corrective actions, commit to plant safety procedures, including maintaining and recording lockout/tagout procedures, as well as developing systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
Requirements
The successful Director of Operations will be professional in attitude and appearance and demonstrate proven manufacturing leadership experience by executing accountability and leading by example, as well as possessing strong team building, decision making and people management skills.
This position will require proven progressive Tool & Die work experience, as well as familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise. A successful Plant Manager will need a working knowledge of safety, quality, and productivity processes.
The ideal candidate will possess proficiency with Microsoft Office and be experienced with ERP software.
Education and Experience
This position will require a two year degree in Engineering or related field, with a four year degree preferred. In addition, candidates will need a knowledge of metal stampings, production processes, and machinery and equipment.
