Survey Crew Chief Responsibilities
- Utilize Total Station or GPS to collect data points to be used to perform topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, preliminary and final plats, construction staking and as-built surveys
- Perform topographic surveys, property surveys and construction staking surveys
- Deliver survey data within the project tolerance
- Adhere to all professional/technical requirements of the survey as directed by the Survey Manager
- Lead and direct the survey crew to perform timely, accurate surveys
- Act as TREKK’s point of contact for the public in the field
- Share your technical knowledge by mentoring survey instrument technicians, serving as a technical resource, and training or assisting others as needed
- Understand and deliver the TREKK customer experience to clients
Education, Licensing, Certification and Experience
- 2-8 years of prior experience with proficiency as a survey rodman and crew lead
- OSHA 10-hour Training and Confined Space Training
- Former construction staking experience required
- MoDOT and KDOT experience preferred
Required Skills/Abilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Must be detail orientated and strive to perform work accurately and efficiently
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization
- Clean driving record and background check
- This job is considered physically demanding. You must be able to work outside year-round; enter sewer manholes; stand for long periods of time; lift, push and pull 100 lbs.; climb stairs; walk uneven terrain; squat; crawl; and walk for long distances.
