Position Purpose
The Millworks Operations Manager directs the sales, production cabinet shop and office operations of the Capitol Millworks. Responsibilities include ensuring that quantity, quality and delivery commitments are fulfilled and seeks to achieve lowest operating costs, strong safety performance and compliance with applicable regulations for industry. This job classification requires strong negotiation skills, extensive knowledge of cabinet shop management and operations, related computer systems and the ability to develop, implement and administer production programs, activities and operations that strategically support the mission and goals of Capitol Millworks, a Raley’s subsidiary.

Responsibilities
- Directs all sales, operations and support functions necessary to meet production and shipping schedules with quality products in a cost efficient and safe manner.
- Directs the Capitol Millworks operation leaders in the execution of their responsibilities to ensure achievement of the sales, production and maintenance objectives.
- Directs plant compliance with company safety standards, programs and policies. Conducts monthly safety meetings.
- Manages the execution of the annual business plan including development of sales forecasts and period and quarterly reports.
- Oversees product pricing, raw materials buying and inventory control.
- Develops and administers the certification program.
- Conducts contract negotiations and selection for all vendors and transportation.
- Responsible for vendor management and verification.
- Manages the millworks operation plant labor, margin and shrink.
- Oversees the crisis management plan for the millworks worksite and directs the response and resolution of major crises.
- Facilitates optimal operation performance by managing the throughput of the cabinet making process.
- Develops and enforces production standards.
- Plans and anticipates product volume needed based on production schedules.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or G.E.D. Some college business or trade education preferred. Seven (7) or more years of cabinet shop or related trade experience. Two (2) years of supervision or management experience.
Required Knowledge
- Strong operational knowledge of cabinet shop management.
- Knowledge of applicable OSHA requirements for safe workplace.
- Advanced level knowledge of machinery associated with cabinet production and cabinet, décor fabrication.
- Advanced knowledge of CAD software programs such as AutoCAD, Alphacam, Cabinet Vision, SketchUp.
- Knowledge or ability to learn bookkeeping practices.

Physical Demands - Employees may occasionally experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time:

Work Environment
Work is performed in a business office environment, maintenance shop, warehouse, construction areas and in retail stores. Work times may involve weekends and nights as needed.
