The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operations Manager to join our growing team in the United States. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our US operation by managing our ordering processes, overseeing logistics, and keeping our US facility and lab running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilities management: Ensure our US lab and office runs smoothly by organising equipment maintenance and calibration, purchasing lab consumables and office supplies as needed, and receiving deliveries.
- Office Administration: Be the first point of contact for the US team on issues related to HR, IT, EH&S and general administration - work closely with the Sydney Operations team in these areas.
- Order Management: Oversee our consumables order process, from receipt of order, to the picking and packing process, through to despatch of orders. Process sales orders accurately and promptly. Ensure all orders comply with company policies and customer purchase orders.
- Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with local logistics teams to schedule shipments, manage delivery timelines, and ensure that products reach customers in a timely and efficient manner.
- Customer Updates: Proactively update customers on the status of their orders from placement through to delivery. Address any customer inquiries or issues related to their orders.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability for orders, and coordinate with our Global Supply team to ensure our inventory levels are accurate and suitable for our customer needs.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, and assist with implementation of initiatives.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical education is preferred.
- Proven experience in an operations, laboratory management, logistics, or similar role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to liaise effectively with internal and external customers and cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
