As the Environmental Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing environmental health and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a safe and healthy work environment. You will collaborate with crossfunctional teams to assess risks, develop strategies to mitigate hazards, and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
This is an onsite role - less than 20% travel required
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive environmental health and safety programs, policies, and procedures. (PPE, LOTO, Respiratory Protection, PSM, Hazcom, Hazardous Waste, Confined Space Entry, etc.)
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Develop and deliver training programs on safety procedures, emergency response, and regulatory compliance for employees at all levels.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and develop corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies to reduce workplace injuries, illnesses, and environmental impacts.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, ensuring timely submission of reports and permits and facilitating inspections as needed.
• Monitor emerging trends and developments in environmental health and safety regulations and best practices, and recommend appropriate actions to maintain compliance and improve performance.
• Participate in the design and review of new processes, equipment, and facilities to ensure safety and environmental considerations are integrated from the outset.
• Lead emergency response and crisis management activities, including coordinating evacuation drills and response teams.
• Ensure all required regulatory reports are submitted accurately and on time.
• May include other EH&S related projects and responsibilities as assigned by Management
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental health and safety management in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar setting.
• Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal environmental health and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks, analyze data, and develop effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels of the organization.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing effective environmental health and safety programs and initiatives.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
