Change Coordinator I

6 + Month Contract
7 to 8:30 am start, 8 hr shift
Fully onsite
PPE required when accessing the factory from time to time (up to 2x a week) to follow up on projects, or look for products
Windchill Experience is needed
Previous Change Coordinator experience in a Engineering or manufacturing company.
ENG degree or experience a plus, but not required.
Examples of change would be closing out defunct parts, or adding new part names
- Coordinating the various ECR’s in process and updating metrics, reports and data that needs to be communicated to higher management.
- Primarily working in an office area. From time to time, they need to go to the production area. Will need to wear PPE to talk to workers on an as needed basis.
- Windchill is ideal but only preferred. Not a must have.
- Microsoft Office Suite would be nice as they will be using Excel.
- Extend or convert to full time? There is potential for it. Can’t commit for sure at this time.
- Rejected resumes: Manager noticed a lot of people with Masters degrees. That is too senior for them. Associates or Bachelors is fine. A lot of people with general experience but need someone that has dealt with change management (boots on the ground type).
- Trying to obsolete items that are no longer required.
- Product rationalization implementation.
- Introducing new parts as well to simplify and streamline for the customers.
- Manufacturing experience is fine to look at if they have implemented change.
- Any 3 D experience is ok. Creo is what they use. Solid works experience is fine. Not really a must have but being able to understand it.
- No relocation. This has to be a local candidate already and ready to go onsite.
- Change management ( boots on the ground type) with Coordination experience and manufacturing background. Product life cycle experience.
- Masters’ degree is too senior.
- Needs to be organized and able to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
- Report and summarize status of items.
The Change Coordinator utilizes change management best practices to ensure proper release and update of engineering data, clear communication to cross functional groups related to change management resolution, and to coordinate the approval and implementation of enterprise changes throughout the organization. The Change Coordinator will provide engineering support, leadership, and technical responsibility for assigned projects. This position interfaces with users of Marketing and Engineering data.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
Coordinate and support technical data changes through the Enterprise Change Request (ECR) process, utilizing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
Work with engineering leadership, consulting engineers, project engineers, marketing, production, quality, purchasing, and vendors to manage product improvement and cost reduction projects for globally sourced products.
Apply sound engineering principles to components and systems in order to create and assess designs, bill of materials, including 3D computer modeling, assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing.
Provide programming logic for bill of material generation through a configurator application.
Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams.
Additional Responsibilities:
Supports projects and teams related to Engineering Systems applications.
Create and revise engineering documentation to reflect current practices and procedures.
Manage shifting priorities with multi-tasking skills.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
Minimal education & experience, essential skills & abilities and required license/certification to perform this job.
Required: Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline or equivalent combination of education & experience.
Demonstrate proficiency in tools such as Microsoft suite of tools, Pro-E/CREO, PDMLink, Configured product
Articulate and skillful at creating information, written or otherwise
Exhibits good analytical skills with ability to organize, implement projects to detailed timelines and budgets
Familiarity with the most current Product Lifecycle Management systems and methods, CAD systems and tools, project management, content management systems, and the communication and interaction between IT systems.
General knowledge of engineering & manufacturing policies and operations, including production control, quality control, electrical product, or industrial engineering.
Familiar with common manufacturing processes (casting, 3D models, patterns, machining, & stamping)
Technical competency in areas relating to: motors, drives, pumping technology, electronic controls, business values, project management
Demonstrated ability to solve difficult problems. Understanding of engineering standards, principles and theories
Excellent collaborative interpersonal skills, ability to interface and communicate well with stakeholders
Willing to direct and receive direction from others
Must have good multi-tasking skills and be flexible to shifting priorities
Ability to understand business processes with the means of using information system tools to map & integrate them together into an effective process.
Additional preferences for a specific position:
Preferred: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and 1-2 years of relevant experience in a product, project, or support engineer role with a wide spectrum of processes for a manufacturer.
Experience with valves, pumps, electric motors, and other electro- mechanical products.
Production and/or Support Engineering area experience preferred.
Strong Experience with electro-mechanical devices and components.
Familiar with fluid applications, pressure containing vessel design, and valves.
3D CAD software expertise (Pro/E, Creo - preferred).
Familiar with product lifecycle management software (Windchill - preferred).
Experience working with team members in multiple countries and across several time zones.
Working knowledge of MS Project:
Experience with residential and commercial building HVAC processes and equipment.
Exposure working with regulatory/listing agencies such as UL, FM, CSA, and CE mark
One (1) or more years of experience in the use of PTC Windchill.
One (1) or more years of experience in the use, implementation, configuring, testing, administration of PTC Creo Parametric with experience in Creo Simulate.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate technology concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
Must be a critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to coordinate and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary & virtual teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals.
