Licensed Engineer with a strong background in civil design with an emphasis on water and wastewater infrastructure. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, be highly organized, a good problem solver, efficient, have a good attention to detail and be a team player. The role of the position will focus on planning, design and construction management of water and wastewater infrastructure.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead multidisciplinary technical consulting engineering teams executing the planning, design and construction management of water and wastewater projects.
- Manage multiple projects, schedules, and budgets.
- Deliver complete design and project bid packages.
- Prepare internal layout and preliminary planning and design of systems.
- Review and critique reports, plans, and specifications
- Prepare internal cost estimates for budgeting.
- Review and critique consultant scopes of work and invoices as well as manage consultant communications.
- Assesses infrastructure needs based on current demands and projected future growth.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and value engineering for projects.
- Effectively communicate with construction management department and contractors utilizing different construction delivery methods
- Effectively communicate with governmental agencies for permitting and approval of various systems
- Ensure infrastructure complies with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and codes.
- Provide operations with support and subject matter expertise on operational issues.
- Maintains knowledge and subject matter expertise on latest technologies.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience with wells and water treatment, distribution, and storage systems
- Experience with wastewater treatment, collection, and pumping systems
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, computer-aided Design (CAD) software, and other relevant analytical, scientific, or monitoring software.
- Strong leadership, people, and communication skills
- Knowledge of current Arizona water and wastewater regulations and the ability to effectively communicate with multiple agencies.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona
- Related water and wastewater experience
· Prefer prior consulting engineering design experience of municipal water and wastewater projects.
Prefer prior construction management and field experience
