We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with manufacturing or similar experience to primarily provide Power Distribution and electrical safety leadership.
Experience with PLCs, electrical drives, and instrumentation is highly valued. The role involves continuous improvement efforts with a technical team and offers the opportunity to contribute to plant reliability at a site with a mix of modern and 1950s electrical infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Provide power distribution engineering support for all manufacturing aspects, including medium and low voltage.
- Maintain and develop electrical standards for the site.
- Lead efforts to uphold electrical safety culture.
- Interface with the local utility company regarding high voltage sources.
- Troubleshoot controls issues with operations and the electrical team.
- Evaluate substation and motor control center infrastructure, maintaining a 5-year strategy for upgrades.
- Provide electrical design support for site capital improvement projects, ensuring compliance with local and national standards.
- Potentially expand the role to include design for large capital jobs.
- Guide reliability programs for electrical equipment and develop specific work and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Finalize and maintain arc flash settings using software.
- Implement and maintain coordination settings for 480V substations to the load.
- Lead failure analysis efforts related to site power distribution.
- Interpret and utilize NEC, local electrical codes, and NFPA codes as appropriate.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- 3-5 years of plant manufacturing experience.
- Working knowledge of E&I drawings including electrical schematics, logic diagrams, and P&I diagrams.
- Ability to troubleshoot power distribution issues using drawings, diagnostic data, and field observations.
- Ability to size electrical installations and specify equipment for site upgrades and changes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to perform electrical work safely and effectively in an industrial environment.
- Working knowledge of PLC and single loop controllers.
- Understanding of Safety and process interlocks, PFD calculations.
- Knowledge of electrical standards and Process Safety Management (PSM) procedures.
- Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with others, including operators, mechanics, engineers, and management.
- Ability to mentor the site electrical team.
- Support substation diagnostics.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems with B-phase grounded and high resistance ground systems in service.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
