Your Role
The systems operations engineering group supports the material handling automation systems in our Columbus distribution centers. As a Controls Technician within this group, the candidate will be responsible for becoming an expert on supporting multiple, custom pieces of automation with a focus on understanding the software application, application communication to PLCs, application communication to host, database structure, and system redundancy.

Your Schedule: Friday-Sunday either 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM or 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Your Impact
- Lead projects to implement new or modify existing DC material handling automation systems to support business needs. The focus of this role will be on the software that controls the material handling system.
- Be an expert on the software that supports our DC material handling systems including providing technical support to distribution center users and PLC controls team during troubleshooting or breakdown
- Maintain and administer the software on existing process distribution center automation systems. Develop and execute test plans for new software applications or modifications.
- Ensure optimal system performance and uptime during critical business periods.
- Manage vendors to schedule, cost, and deliverables.
- Be an integral member of, and work in collaboration with, the balance of the Facilities Services Team to deliver and maintain the best possible working solutions for the user community.
- Work on a day-to-day basis with the users in order to be continuously aware of their specific requirements, issues and the performance of systems in the field.

Your Experience
- High school diploma and relevant experience in industrial and systems engineering or related engineering field.
- Three- (3) years of experience with real time automation control system applications.
- Experience supporting advanced material handling systems e.g. high-speed sortation, AS/RS, etc…
- Experience administrating windows server and MS SQL based systems
- Experience in writing SQL queries and reports
- Experience with Iconics visualization SCADA systems
- Working knowledge of various PLC platforms including AB/Rockwell, Siemens, and Step 7
- Mature, open, positive, and direct working style.
