The maintenance manager will lead the site maintenance function in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure. Responsible for planned scheduling creation and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out. Increase the site operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, mean time between failure and downtime reduction, and manage and implement improvement plans, driving Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to. Manage the team on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading the department and creating individual development plans (IDP's) for your direct reports. Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes. Sourcing, developing, and maintaining partnerships with outside vendors to ensure projects are completed on time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Planning and Execution: Develop and implement maintenance schedules, preventive maintenance programs, and emergency repair protocols to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency of production equipment.
- Manage all machine uptime and downtime.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring they are well-trained, motivated, and equipped to perform their tasks effectively.
- Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance, repair, and replacement of machinery and equipment, including mixers, kettles, conveyors, SWACOs, pumps, mezzanines, and metal detectors.
- Assist in compliance of FDA, BRC, GMP, and SQF.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Promote a culture of safety by enforcing proper safety practices and protocols.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including parts, labor, and outside services. Monitor expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Quickly diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions and breakdowns to minimize production downtime. Implement root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
- Vendor and Contractor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or services. Evaluate and select vendors, negotiate contracts, and oversee their performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, equipment upgrades, and operational efficiencies. Lead projects to implement new technologies or practices that enhance production capabilities.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory. Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance operations and performance metrics to senior management.
- Manage and maintain facility and facility projects.
- Develop and maintain yearly budget and assist in building of yearly capital projects.

Education and Experience
- Technical degree or general education degree with more than 5 years industrial maintenance or equivalent experience.
- Two-year management experience desired
- Forklift certification
- Have OSHA 10 or higher certification.
- Proficient use of hand and power tools, pipe threading, TIG welding
- Electrical experience with AC/DC high and low voltages
- Read and comprehend schematics, blueprints, specifications, procedure manuals and instructions
- Possess a valid Special MN Boiler's License, or ability to obtain
- Skilled operation of stand-up and sit-down forklifts.

Physical Demands:

Handle hazardous chemicals in production equipment when it breaks down. Work with hoses and connections which may sometimes spray chemicals and ingredients when broken down.
