Our client is seeking a Logistics Inventory Coordinator/Purchasing Manager to join their growing team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement inventory control strategies to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
- Will be reporting to the General Manager.
- Monitor inventory levels and track inventory movement to identify potential discrepancies, variances, or issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (such as sales, operations, and finance) to forecast inventory needs and establish inventory targets.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials, goods, or products to meet production or customer demand.
- Negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing, favorable payment terms, and favorable contract terms.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other external partners to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess the accuracy and integrity of inventory records and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Utilize inventory management software and systems to track and monitor inventory levels, costs, and performance metrics.
- Analyze inventory data and generate reports to provide insights and recommendations to management on inventory control strategies and purchasing decisions.
- Continuously evaluate and improve purchasing processes and procedures to streamline operations, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Purchasing or Inventory Control Manager, preferably in a manufacturing, retail, or distribution environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in inventory management, purchasing, and supply chain management.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and systems.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proven ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Procurement experience from China and Far East preferred
