Buyer Planner Job Responsibilities:
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms for price, inventory levels, payment, and delivery.
- Purchase production raw materials to ensure on-time delivery, expediting and deferring deliveries as needed.
- Request quotes from suppliers and source alternative suppliers to optimize product quality, customer satisfaction, and cost.
- Create and manage reports and schedules, maintaining required inventory levels.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers, resolving issues fairly and ethically.
- Create Purchase Orders in accordance with quality system guidelines related to ISO 9001:2015.
- Manage and issue monthly supplier scorecards and forecast planning reports.
- Communicate with production and project team members to determine needs.
- Participate in corporate Supply Chain Initiatives and project work, including low-cost sourcing projects and actions associated with Engineered Product Offerings (EPO’s).
- Resolve invoice and receiving issues.
- Work closely with other departments daily.
Buyer Planner Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum Associate Degree in a related field and 2 years of purchasing experience, or 5+ years of purchasing experience.
- Working knowledge of MRP system planning.
