A leading paving and asphalt contractor is looking to appoint a new Corporate HSE Director, based near Jurupa Valley, CA. You will be responsible for leading the corporate HSE program across all businesses and operations, ensuring best-in-class safety performance.
The Role:
- Promote and develop a proactive HSE strategy & culture at all levels of the organization, with heavy focus on employee engagement towards the safety program
- Collect, analyze and report on safety metrics and KPIs at both a site and corporate level, identifying trends and utilizing results to manage, modify and deliver safety priorities across the business.
- Lead a team of HSE professionals (direct and indirect) throughout their portfolio of operations
- Highlight successes and focus areas to senior leadership, in order to continually develop the company safety program
- Identify, develop and deliver safety training in areas such as: safety regulation, hazardous conditions, use of tools and equipment etc.
- Ensure company continually remains compliant and informed of industry regulatory changes when it comes to bodies such as OSHA & MSHA
The Candidate:
- A minimum of 10 years leadership experience leading a corporate safety program for an organization.
- Previous direct industry experience working within construction, paving/asphalt or construction materials.
- A proven leader, with strong communication skills who can engage with internal & external stakeholders alike
- Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering or other related discipline (Required)
- Experience dealing with both OSHA & MSHA (highly preferred)
- Based near Jurupa Valley, CA and able to travel regionally as required (circa. 40%)
