A leading hedge fund in NYC is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to spearhead the development of their new Internal Operations Software product. The fund is a leader in the quantitative investment space, manages more than $40B in total assets under management, and is known for having the best engineering environment in finance. The fund is always looking to hire the best engineers, and will invest significant resources into technology so that all employees have the best tools to perform their jobs.
This is a completely new team that will be pivotal to the firm's growth going forward. This is going to be a full-stack engineering team accountable for designing, developing and implementing solutions for recruiting, compensation and workforce planning. Other firms may use vendor platforms such as Salesforce, ADP, etc., but this fund is passionate about building their own product that will give their employees the best user experience and will give senior leadership advanced data and insights to make workforce planning decisions going forward.
Responsibilities:
- Perform full stack software development in Java and Typescript to build new internal software, which could include applicant track systems, compensation systems, performance systems, recruiting technology, and human capital analytics.
- Manage sensitive data and design complex permission systems around said data
- Build Data Science software to give the firm novel ways to evaluate candidates and internal employee performance (people analytics)
- Work closely with stakeholders and business leaders to define the product and tailor it to specific team needs depending on requirements
- Work with a collaborative group of elite engineers to continuously think about innovative ways to improve the product, end user experience, analytics outputs, etc.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in software development, either in the Technology or Finance industries
- Experience developing a product from 0 to 1 is preferred
- Client is interested in speaking with candidates from other workforce tech companies such as Salesforce, ADP, Workday, etc.
- Excellent, hands-on programming ability in Java OR Python and TypeScript
- Strong communication skills to work with stakeholders in a fast paced environment
