Job Overview - Occupational Therapist:
Join our client in the Bronx, NY, as an Occupational Therapist providing therapy services to students with multiple disabilities and visual impairments. This temporary role focuses on improving sensory processing, motor skills, and self-help abilities to enhance student participation in educational activities.
Compensation: $55 - $58/hour
Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: Flexible Shifts - (Full-time, part-time and per diem options available)
Responsibilities as the Occupational Therapist:
Therapy Services: Improve motor coordination, sensory processing, and self-care skills to maximize student independence.
Assessments & Equipment: Conduct evaluations and recommend adaptive equipment as needed.
Record Maintenance: Keep accurate records of student progress and mandated documentation.
Collaboration: Integrate therapy into classroom settings and work with related service providers.
Communication: Consult with parents and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement IEP goals.
Qualifications for the Occupational Therapist:
Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Licensure: Licensed in New York as an Occupational Therapist.
Experience: Preferred experience with students with visual impairments and multiple disabilities.
Skills: Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
