About the Role:
The Surgical Technologist provides competent and skilled assistance to the surgeon while maintaining the sterile field during the surgical procedure by performing job responsibilities listed herein. 3 months to start, high likelihood of conversion based on skills and
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure patient safety
- Plan, prepare, and assemble sterile supplies and instruments
- Handle sterile and contaminated items properly
- Demonstrate knowledge of surgical instrumentation
- Prepare operating rooms with equipment and supplies
- Anticipate and respond to procedure needs
- Protect patient privacy and adhere to HIPAA standards
Qualifications:
- Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program
- Certification or Registry as Surgical Technologist (state-dependent)
- One year OR scrub experience
- CPR certification within 6 months of hire
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and abnormal conditions
- Proficiency in surgical instrumentation and equipment
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Maintain sterile field and address breaches
- Recognize and address instrument failures
- Adapt to rapidly changing conditions
- Communicate surgical activity accurately
- Perform instrument decontamination and sterilization
Preferred Skills:
- Medical terminology proficiency
- Basic math skills
- Computer literacy (Word processing, Windows)
