This individual performs essential assisted living functions in designated communities while the Resident Services Director (RSD) position is open. This individual will focus primarily on ensuring level of care is accurate and up-to-date and the community is in compliance with policies and procedures. This position requires extensive travel to Communities in the Northeast, NC, SC, FL, IL and MI.
- Responsible for resident care management throughout community.
- Ensure initial and ongoing ARC assessments are timely and accurate.
- Ensure ARC service plans and ARC assignment sheets are accurate and current.
- Review and sign off on communication log and follow-up on critical issues.
- Administer first-aide to residents as needed.
- Oversee the medication program throughout the community and provide oversite to the Resident Medication Assistants.
- Follow up on incident reports and document incidents (such as abuse, neglect) as needed, consistent with Atria and state designated regulations and policies.
- Audit resident files (ARC and assisted living file) for accuracy and to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
- Conduct medication administration records (MARS) and med cart audits to ensure all aspects of medication program are being completed in compliance with regulations and policies.
- Correct any outstanding deficiencies related to resident services and follow up as needed with State survey point of contact.
- Oversee state regulatory and Quality Enhancement compliance.
- Receive and address resident and family concerns in an effective and compassionate manner.
- Ensure proactive communication occurs with families as to resident’s status.
- Lead family meetings to review service plan updates/level of care changes.
- Assist with arranging for transportation with residents to their appointments as needed.
- Conduct training of staff by conducting timely in-services for frontline staff.
- Create monthly staffing schedule and oversee weekly/daily compliance and coverage.
- Review ARC assignment sheets for Resident Services Assistants to ensure all duties have been performed
- Complete ARC documentation as required.
- Hire staff as needed and conduct orientation.
- Ensure performance evaluations and merit increases are completed.
- Participate in stand-up meetings to represent the Resident Services Department.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure resident care is at the highest level.
- Maintain spend down log for purchases and other logs for Agency as utilized.
- Organize the Assisted Living office/department and delegate essential functions as needed.
- Conduct tours as needed.
- Cultivate relationships with hospitals, clinics, etc. to support sales.
- Conduct pre-admission assessments to determine level of care.
- Assist with emergencies such as evacuation of communities as need arises.
- May drive company vehicle from community to social and other various destinations (only if required by community).
- May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
