The Cardiac Anesthetist Team at Emory University Hospital (EUH) & Emory University Hospital Midtown (EUHM) is seeking to hire Anesthetists - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) - to become a vital part of Emory Healthcare’s integrated academic healthcare system.
Work Hours/Schedule:
- Full-Time/Part-Time
- Rotating schedule with call.
Experience:
- Cardiothoracic, Transplant and/or General Anesthesia experience highly preferred.
Highlights of joining the Emory University Hospital & Emory University Hospital Midtown Cardiac Anesthetist Team:
- Salary range: $225,000 - $295,000 per year (for Full Time, 1.0FTE), based on years of experience as an Anesthetist (CRNA or CAA).
- New graduate CRNAs & CAAs will start at $198,000 per year ($95.19/hour), rate will be adjusted to $225,000 per year ($108.17/hour) upon successful completion of Cardiac Anesthetist Competency/Orientation
- $30,000 sign-on bonus (for Full Time, 1.0FTE) or prorated based on FTE, with a 2-year commitment
- Eligible for extra duty pay, overnight shift allowance, CME time-off & allowances, Student Loan Repayment program
- 37 days of PTO (for Full Time 1.0FTE), Benefits coverage, including PTO accrual, will begin from first day of employment

EUH & EUHM Cardiac Anesthetist Team assists in the management of patients undergoing general anesthesia for surgical procedures including heart and lung transplants, VADs, ECMO, CABGs, robotic CABGs, conventional valve surgery, minimally invasive valve surgery, VATs, robotic lobectomies, general thoracic. We also participate in out- of- OR procedures including TAVRs, Mitral clips, TEVARs, EP procedures, and anesthesia for TEEs and cardioversions.
All Anesthetists are expected to supervise Student Anesthetists, participate managing patient needs at both Emory University Hospital (EUH) and Emory University Hospital Midtown (EUHM) as well as have the opportunity to participate in clinical research.
At all Emory Healthcare sites our CAAs, CRNAs and MDs collaborate within the Anesthesia Care Team model ensuring the highest level of quality and safety for our patients.
- Under the direction of an Anesthesiologist, assists in the administration of general and regional anesthesia to surgical and non-surgical procedure patients.
- Performs initial acute cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in life-threatening situations or as directed by a physician; Instructs others in principles and practices of anesthesia, respiratory care and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as directed by the Anesthesiologist.
- Interprets and records patient's physiological and pharmacological status, assists the Anesthesiologist in gathering routine pre-op data.
- Assists in research projects as carried out by an Anesthesiologist.
- Establishes multi-parameter monitoring of patient prior to, during and after anesthesia or in other acute care situations, including ECG, direct arterial pressure, central venous pressure, arterial blood gas determinations, hematocrits, and routine measurement of temperature, respiration, blood pressure, and heart rate.
- Establishes other monitoring as may be developed for anesthesia and intensive care use. Manages pre- and post-anesthetic care, including ventilator management/support, other respiratory care parameters as assigned/directed by an Anesthesiologist.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) Master’s Degree program.
- Licensed or eligible to practice in the State of Georgia.
- Certified by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) or National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
- Must maintain biannual certification through the submission of Continuing Medical Education credits (CMEs).
- BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA) required.
