The Law Firm of Berry Moorman seeks attorneys to join its team in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, estate/trust/probate litigation and tax (general and corporate). This position is for our downtown Birmingham, Michigan office.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, estate/trust/probate litigation and tax.
- Conduct legal research, analyze routine and complex estate planning and tax issues, and develop effective strategies to address client needs.
- Draft and review legal documents, including wills, trusts, patient advocate designations, durable powers of attorney and other related documents.
- Preparation of income tax returns (personal, corporate and fiduciary).
- Represent clients in estate and trust disputes, litigation matters and tax audits.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the Firm to provide integrated solutions for clients with respect to legal and financial matters.
- Stay updated with changes in estate planning techniques, tax laws and regulations to ensure the provision of accurate and up-to-date advice to clients.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and admission to the Michigan State Bar.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in estate planning, estate and trust administration, or estate/trust/probate litigation and tax law (specific requirements may vary depending on the position).
- Strong knowledge of estate planning techniques, probate procedures, trust administration and federal and state tax laws.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively to clients.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in document preparation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
