Job Summary:
The Master Production Scheduler is responsible for creating and managing all production and shipment schedules. This role assembles the master schedule based upon the business, shipment, inventory, and production plans and serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with Engineering, Sales, Production, and Shipping departments.
Essential Functions:
- Leverage Oracle ERP and Op Center systems to develop short-term plant production schedules, being mindful of long-term goals.
- Establish and evaluate scheduling priorities for job orders.
- Resolve Supply, Demand, and Capacity issues while optimizing both labor and equipment utilization.
- Execute efficient schedules to drive the highest possible OTIF or OTD.
- Perform & collaborate all capacity planning activities and coordinate output with select production areas.
- Use the Oracle ERP to integrate Sales Orders with master schedule utilizing Op Center; coordinate availability of raw materials, semi-finished goods, supplies, equipment, and workers as needed to meet delivery dates.
- Evaluate current procedures and recommend changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects.
- Ensure all Work Orders and projects are properly documented and closed in scheduling systems.
- Assess and implement ERP techniques needed to plan, schedule, control, measure, and evaluate the effectiveness of production operations.
- Successfully communicate finished goods forecast and inventory estimations to Management team.
- Monitor and report any important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies putting at risk customers at the forefront of mitigation efforts.
- Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Coordinate & communicate production schedule to staff members promptly.
- Manage load leveling and bottleneck scheduling and utilize the theory of constraints (TOC) for more accurate scheduling.
- Coordinate and executive Effectivity Dates for ECNs and ECOs.
- Generate and maintain production orders within Op Center in alignment with the production plans for commercial and validation processes.
- Track and manage inventory levels; establish safety stock levels.
- Ensure the ERP system data elements related to the supply chain and planning are set to the correct parameters.
- Identify manufacturing variances weekly and reports them to the cost accounting team.
- Responsible for comparing standard cost to actual cost and identifying and explaining manufacturing variances.
- Responsible for maintaining work areas and performing job functions safely and efficiently by company policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Batch Record instructions. Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.
- Develop continuous improvement opportunities relative to position and participates in execution.
- Align ERP production schedules with customer requirements.
- Report directly to the Supply Chain Manager.
- Conduct monthly forecast maintenance.

Job Specifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or operations management.
- Minimum of 6 years previous planning experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of Oracle Experience (or other Tier 1 or 2 ERP experience.)
- Minimum of 2 years of Op Center Experience (or other Tier 1 or 2 MOM experience.)
- Excellent Microsoft Office programs knowledge.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience tracking production efficiencies and reporting statistics to upper management.
- Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Proficient use of computer systems and software applications.
- Good problem solving and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Prior information technology or systems administration experience.
