JOB SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Operations Manager motivates, supports, and provides guidance to production staff, ensures safety standards are met, and communicates regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production. The successful candidate is committed to the creation and promotion of a positive group atmosphere, establishes a balance between increased productivity and costs of manufacturing operations, and sets productivity goals for the team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
- Evaluates machine resources and condition to ensure continued production and minimal downtime.
- Leads and coaches shift supervisors.
- Leads employees in continuous improvement and promotes a learning culture within the department.
- Enforces safety policies and procedures to decrease the potential for injuries on the job.
- Communicates company goals and expectations to the employees and provides feedback to upper management.
- Sets daily/weekly/monthly objectives and ensures adequate scheduling of staff.
- Monitors and appraises job results by coaching, training and counseling employees.
- Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending actions.
- Evaluates each work center to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Organizes, directs, and controls daily production on all shifts.
- Initiates change processes and actively participates in continuous improvement projects.
- On-time delivery, quality, and cost responsibility within the budget.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsibility for the transfer of indirect functions by agreement (quality, maintenance, logistics, disposition, etc.).
- Proposals for investment and cost planning.
- Carry out action plans or CIP measures to ensure compliance with agreed budgetary frameworks.
- Visualization of group results.
- Responsibility for order and cleanliness.
- Participation in workplace design.
- Interdepartmental communication on relevant issues.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field highly preferred.
- Supervisory or managerial experience in an industrial manufacturing environment required.
- Professional experience in Cold Forming, Cold Heading, Fastener Manufacturing, or Automotive Manufacturing preferred.
- Independent and goal-oriented approach
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Experience with SAP preferred
- Able to prepare communications, such as reports and presentations, to provide insights on production trends
