Analyzer Technician
Houston/ Beaumont, TX
POSITION OVERVIEW
An Analyzer Technician in the Houston area that can provide technical expertise and support relative to the Process Analyzer Systems which includes ensuring proper functionality, troubleshooting problems, performing compliance audits, supporting reliability improvements, supporting project execution, utilizing maintenance procedures and supporting document control efforts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine checks and maintenance required to ensure equipment functionality and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues that impair proper functionality of analytical systems.
- Assure site compliance requirements for analytical systems and performing internal audits.
- Operate and maintain Laser technologies.
- Provide the required support needed to resolve non-scheduled priority jobs during normal and after hours.
- Willing and able to work extended hours to resolve equipment issues and to support site activities.
- Participate in root cause failure analysis related to analytical systems.
- Able to interface with manufacturing, engineering and other functions.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum (5) years of practical experience in maintaining process analyzers, sample conditioning systems and communications architecture.
- Analyzer/Instrument Associate's degree or Certificate of Technology, Formal Training such as Apprentices Program, Military training in relevant technical fields, and Chemistry is a plus.
- Experience with on-line analyzers including GC, IR, Mass Spec, Titration, CEMS, HRVOC, Oxygen, Water Quality, Gas Detection, etc., in a petrochemical facility.
- Fundamental understanding of chemistry and chromatography.
- Proficient using computer applications (email, word, excel, etc.) and practical knowledge of computer hardware.
SAFETY
- Must be able and willing to follow safety requirements, including receiving permits, developing JSA’s, and follow procedures.
- Must demonstrate the desire to participant in a strong safe work culture.
- Have a strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory/compliance requirements, ESH policies, and procedures when working in around highly hazardous chemicals.
Looking for both part time and full time.
Pay depends on experience.
