Key Responsibilities:
Process Optimization
- Dive deep into manufacturing processes related to electrical assembly to boost efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Spot opportunities for automation and implement cutting-edge solutions to elevate production capabilities.
Fixture and Tooling Design
- Design and develop precision fixtures and tooling for railcar electrical assembly to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Work closely with design and production teams to create custom solutions tailored to our needs.
Quality Assurance
- Develop and implement rigorous quality control procedures to ensure our products meet industry standards.
- Partner with quality assurance teams to tackle any manufacturing issues impacting product quality.
Design Manufacturability Assessment
- Collaborate with the design team to evaluate the manufacturability of electrical components and optimize for efficient production.
- Conduct detailed reviews of design specs and propose solutions to streamline processes and reduce costs.
Design Incidence Management
- Act as a key contact for design-related issues during manufacturing, ensuring swift and effective resolutions.
- Document incidents and lessons learned to drive future design improvements.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead continuous improvement efforts using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma principles.
- Perform root cause analyses and develop corrective action plans for manufacturing challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in electrical manufacturing engineering, especially with electrical and cabling installations in the rail industry.
- Expertise in fixture and tooling design.
- Strong knowledge of materials, fabrication techniques, and manufacturing processes for passenger railcar electrical assemblies.
- Familiarity with electrical process documentation (schematics, diagrams, etc.).
- Proficiency in CAD software and engineering tools (CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Experience with quality control methodologies and continuous improvement techniques.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
