The Master Data Governance and Maintenance Manager is responsible for driving the business strategy by ensuring the creation, maintenance, and monitoring of high-quality, reliable master data. This role is pivotal in establishing a culture where master data is inherently trusted, facilitating seamless business transactions, informed decision-making, and operational excellence.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Vision and Strategy: Develop and implement a strategic vision for master data governance, fostering a culture of trust and reliability in data across the organization.
- Data Quality Management: Oversee the creation and maintenance of master data to ensure it meets high standards of quality, consistency, and reliability.
- Data Governance Frameworks: Establish, manage, and lead the data governance frameworks and Data Council to align with the company’s business objectives, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
- Process Optimization: Strategically manage and optimize business processes related to data governance to support continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Leadership and Guidance: Lead and manage data governance activities, providing direction and support to teams to enhance data quality and protection.
- Compliance and Protection: Ensure the protection of sensitive data and information assets, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote data-driven decision-making and support the organization’s strategic goals.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or an IT-related field.
- Master’s degree in computer science or a related field as a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years in business process management and/or data governance.
- At least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in leading strategic process improvement and data governance initiatives.
- Experience with process management tools (e.g., BPM, Six Sigma) and data governance frameworks.
