Research Associate II - DMPK is responsible for processing and analyzing biological samples arising from routine PK studies in support of Lead finding/lead optimization studies. Analyzes samples by LC-MS/MS, QC the data, and report it in an internal Data Capture System. Provide updates at various meetings internally (project teams, department meetings, etc.).
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the internal LC-MS/MS expert for bioanalysis of samples
- Works independently and makes day to day scientific decisions with minimal guidance
- Responsible for producing high quality data on which research decisions can be made
- Assess data for quality, interpret and disseminate the information in a timely fashion
- Attend PK scheduling meetings and other important internal (inter-departmental meetings) meetings aiding workflow
- Ensure that lab supplies are ordered on time to ensure uninterrupted lab operations
- Trouble shoot instruments as and when required. Call service personnel in a timely fashion if the problem is beyond internal capabilities
Other duties and capabilities expected:
- Develop strong internal relationships with Chemistry and Biology personnel including Laboratory Animal Resource group
- Step in when necessary to conduct certain in vitro assays such as PxR, metabolic incubations (to identify metabolites)
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Analytical Sciences
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience in the bioanalytical area
- Mastery of LC-MS/MS (Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry/Mass Spectrometry) science/experience
