JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Estimator to join our team on a contract basis in Houston, TX. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing accurate cost estimates for our Offshore and Onshore projects, ensuring adherence to company standards and methodologies. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects in the energy sector.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop accurate cost estimates based on scopes of work defined by the Project and Development teams.
- Ensure the accuracy of cost estimates within set tolerances for defined stages of maturity.
- Adhere to company standards, policies, and procedures in all cost estimates.
- Identify and leverage synergies between activities that may provide cost benefits if executed in parallel.
- Provide appropriate estimating support using standard techniques and methodologies.
- Support the Lead Estimator with early warning intelligence on estimate deviations, enabling timely intervention and corrective measures.
- Apply Client Escalation Indices and Forex philosophy to estimates.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
- Assist in the preparation of the project Estimate Plan.
- Prepare and update the Basis of Estimate document, reflecting the current scope of work, execution strategy, and schedule.
- Utilize appropriate benchmark information in the preparation of cost estimates.
- Participate in estimate reviews and governance of estimates provided by other departments and external contractors.
- Coordinate, facilitate, and run cost risk analyses models using Safran, covering all project scopes.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- 10-15 years of estimating experience, preferably within the oil & gas/energy industry across Offshore and Onshore projects.
- Degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent trade with site experience.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Experience across Front-End and Back-End Estimating.
- Experience in the Engineering and Construction Industry, particularly in Field or Fabrication.
- Proficient in applying benchmark data to estimates and producing high-quality estimating documents.
- Experience dealing with Contractors and other key stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of estimate alignment with project schedules and execution strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively present Project Estimates to key stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively across various levels of an organization, including clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
