Grand River Services is a third-party administrator that specializes in both first party property and third-party casualty claims. We are seeking an experienced Commercial Property Adjuster to join our remote workforce. This position reports directly to the Director of Claims.
Our claims adjuster role is unique.
We look for you to handle both multiple jurisdictions and multiple lines of business. Our Claims Adjusters take pride in providing a high touch approach that is rarely found in today’s marketplace. We work directly with both the insureds and the agencies to provide excellent service.
We are seeking a skilled professional that can think critically, evaluate coverage, investigate claims, and negotiate settlements. The ideal candidate must have the ability to maintain highly organized and detailed claims files, and clearly communicate a concise action plan for moving the case to conclusion. Experience in handling both multi-state and multiple lines is preferred, but experience in handling Commercial Property is required.
Qualifications/ Core Competencies
- Commercial Property experience required
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, high school diploma required
- Ability to complete onsite inspections
- Some travel required throughout field areas to inspect risks and assess property damage
- Experience with Xactimate
- Haag Certified preferred
- Multi-state experience a plus; multiple lines a plus
- Must be a licensed adjuster and the ability to obtain licenses on other states
- Ability to be cross trained to handle other lines of business
- Experience in handling fire, collapse, theft, and water damage claims
- Ability to handle and negotiate settlements on both non-litigated and litigated claims
- 1-3 years of claims handling experience
- Must be comfortable and self-directed to work independently in a remote, virtual office environment
- Light to moderate travel to attend training, perform inspections, trials, and company functions
- Valid driver’s license required
