Summary:
The Buyer is responsible for initiating and revising purchase orders for inventory and non-inventory parts and services. This role ensures that procurement activities meet ERP system requirements and approved purchase requisitions, focusing on price, availability, and quality to fulfill organizational needs.

- Pay: $30-$35 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Obtain and confirm receipt of purchase orders from vendors. Follow up on open purchase orders to ensure timely and acceptable delivery dates.
- Collaborate with production, warehouse, and requisitioners to communicate delivery dates and expedite orders as necessary to meet company requirements.
- Analyze quotations, negotiate prices and payment terms, and evaluate suppliers based on price, availability, and quality.
- Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness. Obtain any missing information from requisitioners before placing orders.
- Address discrepancies between the company's purchase order prices and vendor invoice prices.
- Handle purchase order non-conformances and returns to vendors, including managing returns for credit or replacement and performing quality transactions within the ERP system.
- Effectively manage time and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Perform other related duties as requested.
Education and Experience:
- Education: Associate's Degree or APICS certification (or in progress).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Junior Buyer role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate effectively in English. Bilingual ability in Spanish at a business conversational level is preferred.
Mathematical Skills:
- Proficient in applying arithmetic operations (PEDMAS), working with integers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to solve algebraic equations and transform word problems into solvable arithmetic formulae. Capable of converting units of measure for price comparisons.
