Talisman is partnered with an esteemed consultancy to add a Senior Traffic Engineer to their team in Pittsburgh, PA. As a Senior Traffic Engineer, you will play a key role in leading and managing transportation projects, including traffic analysis, roadway design, signal design, and safety improvements. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in traffic engineering and project management, ensuring the successful delivery of projects for public and private clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage traffic engineering projects, including traffic impact studies, traffic signal designs, and intersection improvements.
- Conduct traffic analyses using software such as Synchro, HCS, and VISSIM to model traffic flow and optimize signal timing.
- Develop and review traffic control plans, including signage, pavement markings, and detour routes.
- Prepare and review technical reports, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Collaborate with clients, municipalities, and stakeholders to deliver efficient and innovative traffic solutions.
- Oversee and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, providing guidance and ensuring the quality of deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including PennDOT standards.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to meet deadlines and achieve project goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Pennsylvania required.
- 8+ years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning.
- Proficiency in traffic modeling and simulation software (e.g., Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, AutoCAD, MicroStation).
- Strong understanding of traffic signal design, roadway design, and safety analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of PennDOT procedures and regulations is preferred.
