Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Engineer in Training at Hiltz Propane Systems, Inc. currently located in our Mount Joy (PA) office. The role involves day-to-day tasks related to mechanical engineering, computer-aided design (CAD), project management, and research and development (R&D).
- Design and develop propane storage and distribution systems, components, and products according to project specifications and requirements.
- Conduct analysis and testing to ensure the functionality, performance, and safety of mechanical designs, with a focus on propane systems.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation using AutoCAD software.
- Collaborate with other engineers, technicians, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and optimize designs.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and project schedules.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control procedures specific to propane systems.
- Participate in design reviews, providing technical expertise and recommendations.
- Conduct field inspections and provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
- Continuously update technical knowledge and skills by attending workshops, courses, and staying current with industry trends, particularly in the propane industry.
- Prepare documentation for permitting storage tanks to local jurisdictions.
Qualifications
- Experience using AutoCAD
- Project Management experience
- Research and Development (R&D) skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Must have passed the FE
- Relevant internships or work experience
