JOB TITLE: SOLAR ELECTRICAL SUPERINTENDENT

REPORTS TO: GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT
Job Overview: The Senior or General Superintendent is responsible for overseeing projects to ensure their successful completion. This role involves direct management of field operations and coordination with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute all core superintendent duties effectively.
- Supervise field operations, including direct reports and subcontractors.
- Enforce and adhere to safety protocols, participating in Safety Training Programs.
- Build and maintain relationships with Owners and Architects.
- Recruit, train, and manage the field construction team, ensuring effective organization and coordination.
- Maintain high work quality standards and oversee quality control.
- Manage material and tool procurement to avoid emergency purchases.
- Prepare and submit essential reports, including time sheets, work orders, daily reports, and invoice approvals.
- Oversee the punch list process and ensure timely completion.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and subcontractor submissions.
- Lead or attend pre-job conferences and regular subcontractor meetings.
- Oversee start-up testing and project turnover to the Owner.
- Manage multiple projects across a broad geographic area as needed.
- Plan and communicate necessary support effectively.
- Manual labor may be occasionally required.
- Assume overall responsibility for the management and success of assigned projects.
- This is an on-site position with required travel and scheduled time off every three weeks.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of experience supervising large-scale solar PV projects.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Proficiency in job scheduling, planning, expediting, and cost control.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong sense of urgency.
- Must prioritize safety before all else and lead by example; preferably OSHA30 level
- Electrical field installation experience within a solar plant or heavy industrial environment
- Self-Perform Solar Construction Experience is highly preferred
- 3 years' supervisory experience in a power plant or with heavy industrial construction
- Demonstrated ability to supervise 30-50 or more employees
- Demonstrated planning and scheduling experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of, reading, interpreting, and working with Electrical design drawings (isometric and orthographic), design guides, specifications
- Contract documents and site coordination of subcontractors
- 4-5 years previous experience as a General Foreman or 3 Years as a Superintendent in a single discipline on an industrial construction project. Previous background of man hour reports, job cost reports, and workforce planning is required
