Position Overview:
Round Rock ISD is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Attorney to join our Legal Services Department. In this role, you will assist the General Counsel in performing a variety of duties, with responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
- Providing in-house legal services to the Superintendent, designated staff, and the Board of Trustees.
- Coordinating legal services required by the District, ensuring legal compliance and effective risk management.
- Offering guidance, direction, and assistance to district staff regarding investigations and legal inquiries.
- Drafting and issuing direct responses to individuals or entities not in compliance with District policies and guidelines.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of educational law, demonstrate excellent judgment, and have a proven track record of providing strategic legal counsel in a public education setting.
Entry Qualifications:
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited law school.
- A valid license to practice law in the State of Texas.
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible legal experience, with a focus on matters relevant to public education and district operations.
