HDT Bio is pioneering technologies that direct the host immune system to treat or prevent cancer and infectious diseases. This Postdoctoral Scientist – Virology Team will be primarily responsible for designing and executing experiments in discovery- and application-based projects utilizing HDT’s RNA vaccine platform to develop vaccines and therapeutics against emerging viral pathogens.
They will specifically contribute towards 1) advanced understanding of mucosal immune responses generated by HDT’s RNA vaccine platform, 2) identification of opportunities to leverage HDT’s RNA vaccine platform against emerging respiratory pathogens, and 3) leading key pre-clinical studies to advance candidate therapeutics towards human clinical trials. A successful candidate should have expertise in studying mucosal immune responses to vaccines and the pathogenesis of respiratory virus infection. The ideal candidate will have extensive laboratory experience characterizing adaptive immune responses (both cellular and humoral) within mucosal tissues. Applicants with experience working with influenza viruses are highly encouraged to apply. This candidate should be able to characterize mucosal antibody responses, identify and immunophenotype tissue resident memory cells, and possess an in-depth understanding of phenotypes associated with protective mucosal immune responses. The candidate should also have expertise in supporting collaborative projects and prioritize accurate and thorough communication of research findings to diverse stakeholders. Their scientific subject-area expertise, know-how, and critical thinking will ensure project success and help foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and scientific excellence in our team.
Despite this being a postdoctoral position, applicants who already have postdoctoral experience are encouraged to apply.
Candidates are encouraged to send cover letters to the hiring team by emailing barbara.purmort@hdt.bio
