Plastic Welding Engineer Expert to provide support for a project in Weirton, WV
Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Senior Welding Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will have a strong background in resistance, ultrasonic, and/or laser welding, coupled with extensive experience in production and manufacturing environments. You will be responsible for troubleshooting welding issues, developing robust welding processes, and ensuring the highest quality standards in our manufacturing operations.
Monday- Through Friday- Hybrid
- This can turn into maybe a hybrid type role, need to be onsite to begin with but once everything got going maybe only need to be on site 1-2 weeks per month.
- For travel we can cover expenses to/from job site and there will be a per diem .Prefer anyone semi local , but open to someone who is not local.
- The real focus is an expert in plastic welding, plastic to plastic welding, hot plate welding.
- Must be able to take a white paper and develop all the way to a working process.
- Need Experience doing this. - No training provided- need someone who can hit the ground running on day 1.
Overview
- Lead optimization of welding processes, focusing on resistance, ultrasonic, and laser welding techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate welding processes into production lines.
- Investigate and resolve welding-related issues to minimize downtime and maintain efficient production.
- Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to address welding defects and inconsistencies.
- Establish and enforce quality standards for welding processes to ensure the production of high-quality products.
- Provide technical support to production teams, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of welding processes. Collaborate with production personnel to address real-time welding challenges and optimize production output.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding engineering, with a focus on resistance, ultrasonic, and/or laser welding processes.
Education/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with a track record of successful process development and optimization.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex welding issues.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with project management and the ability to lead and execute welding-related projects.
