We are hiring a Commodity Manager to work with a Manufacturing company located in Pompano, FL
full time - Remote ( for out of Florida employees) with 40% traveling
Onsite for local employee
$100,000-$140,000 a year salary
Pompano area.
Overview: You will lead a team responsible for managing and improving relationships with our suppliers, ensuring our supply chain supports business goals effectively. You'll work with various teams to develop strategies for sourcing and managing our suppliers, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and risk management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement global sourcing strategies to enhance supply chain performance and achieve business objectives.
- Lead cross-functional teams to create strategies for specific commodity areas based on technology and market trends.
- Collaborate with business units to address challenges and improve performance through expert sourcing and category management.
- Support new product development by selecting components and managing supplier relationships.
- Provide strategic guidance based on business needs and data analysis.
- Manage long-term supplier contracts and agreements.
- Develop benchmarks to drive continuous improvement in supplier performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to meet performance targets.
- Set goals and KPIs, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and transparency.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
- 8+ years of sourcing experience, with at least 5 years in commodity or category management and global strategic sourcing.
- APICS or CAPM certification is a plus.
- 5+ years of MRP experience, preferably with SAP.
- Knowledge of raw metal alloys and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in developing and executing commodity strategies for large-scale spend.
- Expertise in one or more key commodities: metals, plastics, electronics, motors, pumps, or power transmission.
- Strong decision-making, negotiation, and supplier management skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in teams and with international suppliers.
