About the Job:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing
metal powder production equipment (foundries and large-scale sieving equipment) in the
manufacturing facility. This role ensures the efficient and safe operation of machinery and
facilities by performing preventative maintenance, addressing equipment failures and
implementing improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility
- infrastructure.
- Inspect, troubleshoot and repair foundry and sieving equipment as needed.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and production
- delays.
- Utilize tools and diagnostic equipment to identify and fix issues.
- Report recurring issues and suggest improvements to enhance equipment reliability and facility operations.
- Establish & maintain a machine preventive maintenance program for machinery.
- Collaborate with the local production team and maintenance teams from other locations to develop and execute maintenance strategies that support manufacturing goals.
- Utilize electrical schematic diagrams, demonstrate technical, mechanical, and troubleshooting abilities to define and perform necessary machinery repairs.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks in accordance with company safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment; comply with all safety and OSHA requirements.
Required and Preferred Experience and Skills, Education Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent, technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance or related field is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance, within a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Relevant certifications, with practical experience (e.g. electrical, welding, forklift operations, hand tools) are a plus.
- Proficiency in mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems, ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
- Hands-on experience with equipment repairs.
- Experience working with pressurized gas systems - preferably nitrogen or Argon gas.
- Experience with vacuum equipment sealing and pumping systems.
- Technical experience with compressor maintenance, valve maintenance, pneumatic actuators.
