Job Summary:
The Learning & Development (L&D) Supervisor oversees the development and implementation of the Learning & Development Program at Terminal B for LaGuardia Gateway Partners. The goal of the role is to support the Manager, Process Excellence in the execution of the development and delivery of the L&D curriculum focused on improving and enhancing knowledge of rules, regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and industry standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct business analysis to identify training needs of the organization to ensure a safe, secure, sustainable, and efficient terminal operation
- Generate and present regulatory, statistical, financial reporting
- Develop operational plans and processes for a successful execution of day-to-day operations intended to reduce complexities and improve team and guest experiences
- Manage the technologies and resources required to develop, manage, and deliver training
- Identify short and long-term training goals and requirements addressing the deficiencies, and industry trends and standards
- Implement new or enhanced procedures and initiatives
- Design and develop technical and operational training plans for delivery in classroom and online settings. Plans include but are not limited to: LGP staff, Ramp Safety, Audits and Inspection, Security, and Environmental
- Analyze, develop, and test, the program that supports career progression
- Manage training records and the Learning Management System (LMS)
- Assist in development and execution of collaborative methods to document and track the performance of the organization to ensure delivery of operational excellence and improve performance
- Work with Human Resources Team on onboarding, ongoing compliance and leadership trainings for the organization
- Conduct new hire training in classroom as outlined in the company L&D plan/strategy along with ongoing hands-on training/on the job training
- Conduct knowledge and operational observations, audits and assessments during the training process and recurring as needed
- Provide refresher and on-going training for staff which includes cross-training for all employees learning functions
- Train external partners, e.g., airlines and services companies, on LGP operational procedures so they are versed and can disseminate the information to their staff
- Support continuous improvement activities and other internal process trainings
- Stay current in industry best practices, by gathering information from various industry forums, conferences, and presenting to senior leadership
- Support the Manager, Process Excellence and Senior Director, Operations as needed

- Demonstrated strong analytical skills with focus on process improvement
- Ability to work collaboratively with others to solve issues
- Knowledge of SMS (safety management system)
- Project and time management skills; experience with project management software tools
- Strong Office software skills: Intermediate Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Education and Qualification:
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred or 4 years aviation/airport experience without a degree
- Experience in a training or training administration role with extensive knowledge of airport operations procedures
- Experience in an aviation/airport setting or customer experience preferred
- Strong presentation, instructional and facilitation skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide constructive feedback in a professional manner
- Ability to work on various shifts as needed, flexible schedule
Primary Work Location: LaGuardia Airport, NY (Onsite)
