Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintaining, modifying and repairing mechanical equipment to prevent or reduce production delays while working in a safe and professional manner.
- Working on their own or with others performing preventative maintenance to equipment and evaluating it for further needed repairs and returning the equipment to service in a timely and safe manner.
- Using power tools, diagnostic or hand tools or machining equipment to maintain or repair machinery to safe working condition
- Making minor or major electrical repairs to equipment while observing standard safety practices
- Required to perform other duties as directed, assigned or requested
Education and Experience
- Minimum of a high school education or equivalent
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of electrical or machinery repair and maintenance experience
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have a strong knowledge of the proper use power and hand tools with good working knowledge of the use of a lathe, milling machine, drill presses etc.
- Must have good working knowledge of electrical theory and circuits and the ability to diagnose electrical problems.
- Must have good organizational and planning skills and be able to perform multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
- Must be able to regularly repair mechanical equipment to OEM standards or to specifications set by the department manager
- Ability to read and write in English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math
- Must work in a safe and professional manner and communicate issues back to the department manager
- Must be able to work well with others as well as independently
- Familiar with brands - Bobst, Komori, Heidelberg - preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach
- Regularly required to use force to push, pull and lift up to 75 lbs
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Work Enviroment
- Work performed in a shop environments
- Exposed to hot and cold temperature
- Regularly exposed to dust, odors, fumes and noise
Supervisory Responsibilities: Must be able to provide guidance to mechanics and PM staff when needed.
